Import from Isle of Man
I'm looking to import a vintage tractor from the Isle of Man which currently has an IOM registration number. Has anyone ever brought a vehicle over from the IOM as I would like to know how I go about registering it in the UK and obtaining an age related British Isles registration number? Defender 90XS SW

importing is not a problem you just need to get it here by the best means a age related plate could be more difficult it may have to be a q plate witch then means it needs to pass a mot things may have changed this was my experience when i tried to buy a vintage wagon this was a number of years ago . call the dvla they will be able to help Smile

Some time ago I was looking to buy an 80in Series 1 from Orkney. It had a V5 but when I contacted the DVLA they mentioned something about it being registered under the Small Islands scheme, which I had never heard of. DVLA said that once brought back to the mainland it would lose its original registration and would need to be re registered. Not sure whether that would have been age related or a Q plate.
