That's a pain but they are busy for good reason. Definitely worth waiting for.

Morning all,
I’m after rational opinion! The wagon has been in the garage since Wednesday at a well respected Land Rover independant. Diagnosis pointed to 2 knackered injectors and two not far off being knackered. All four replaced but yesterday I was advised that the engine is very much down on compression and smoking horribly. Have been told to expect a terminal diagnosis. I therefore have a big decision to make as being self employed I need a largish wagon for work to transport tools etc and with current workload the timing could not have been worse. I obviously already have a large bill for repairs to date but still no working vehicle. Although its done 199,500 miles bodywork, interior and chassis its in very good condition and is regularly complemented. New Clutchfix system fitted about 5k ago. My plan over the next few months was to prep it up for storage and put it away for safe keeping as I don’t really want to see it go however I now maybe have to make a different decision! - do I get the garage to take the engine apart and dig deeper? More expense but not necessarily a cure. - if it is terminal do I shell out for a replacement engine? - do I accept its gone and sell as a non runner as is? I have no idea what it would be worth as is and am struggling to make a rational decision!!!!!! 2007, CSW, TDCI XS Gutted but would welcome advice! Churchy |

If it was me and given time and the reliance on your car...
Put it in storage. Get aVW T5 4MOTION. Look out for an engine you can drop in, or get yours rebuilt at your leisure. Have a great weekend car in future - or sell it for what its really worth rather than panicking. JB @Lodelaner Instagram Youtube greenlaning and other LR related content |

Thank you - You read my mind! Ive been lurking on the usual sale websites for a t5 4 motion for the last 6 months or so - trouble is they seem to be rarely available in and therefore quite high priced but they seem to fly off the shelves so that tells me one thing!
Ive been looking on piston heads and autotrader - is there another sales website that I’m missing? |

I had a T5 California. Took 6 months to find the right one.
Maybe the T5 forums? JB @Lodelaner Instagram Youtube greenlaning and other LR related content |

I wouldn't discount fitting a 2nd hand engine. They seem fairly easy to find at a good price.
