Extended Warranty/Service question
Morning All,

I'm currently in a dilemma and thought I'd throw it out to the forum and see if anyone else has felt the same and what are their experiences.
My 90 is 4yrs old and out of (extended) warranty at the end of May.
My dilemma is around extending the warranty for a further year and if it's worth it.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed the window catch on the side window is coroding and after washing it yesterday I also noticed that the bulkhead looks to be bubbling each end where the panels are joined.
I need to find out what the body and corrosion warranty on a LR is as I know some manufacturers offer 6 yrs and if this is the case is it dependant on having the vehicle serviced by LR as i'm also debating having the servicing done independently after getting ridiculous quotes for this (4th + major/B) years service as on enquirey the price started at £1178 altho I have managed to negotiate it down but it's still a bit spend !!!!!!!

What bothers me is that once I'm completely out of any warranty, extended in my case I won't have any redress if there are any further issues and what are people's experience's of an ageing Defender and any possible (mechancel, , electrical or body) future issues please as I'm trying to weigh up whether to take out the extended warranty and continue with the LR servicing ???

Thanks
Mark

The corrosion warranty is for 6 years and subject to an annual inspection by LR dealer. No requirement for servicing by LR - but see below.
The corrosion on the bulkhead should be covered with hopefully no problem. The side window block might be covered depending on your relationship with your dealer. Some have had them replaced, others refused.
I would get it inspected by your dealer now and fixed as soon as possible.
Whether you pay dealer prices or go independent is really a matter of choice. I usually stick with the dealer for 4 years.
