Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Stornoway Grey
It's a pity,

Its a nice SUV, but for sure it's not a replacement of the Defender as we all know: an offrad car with the ability to going onroad. Its just the opposite with some tweaks to looks more roughed than the other LR models.

I'm not see myself installing an awning or a workligth in the bottom of the car.
Still pending to see the capabilities and if can support stay in bad tracks most of the time.

Cheers! Eduardo

Time changes everything....I do not like the concept of EVs but there are here to stay. Similarly the new defender is not to everyone's taste but it is here to stay (that's when we get to see it Thumbs Up).
I kind of like the shape.

I guess this is the slow burn vehicle launch then, Maybe trying to avoid a negative reaction. Personally I am happy with my 110 for what it is with all of its qwerks. There however is clearly something wrong with me as I am probably more happy driving a series one, even less technology but every drive feels like an adventure Laughing 2010 XS USW

750k of testing but not in the area most needed by this ..... they haven’t tested it in an LR dealership and seen if it received good customer service... 1951 80" S1 2.0

Devil is in the details. We'll see how the headlights, the grill, the bonnet, the rear part, if it has alpine windows, etc. Of course it is not the "classic" Defender (I've had four Land Rovers, two of them Defender) but at least I hope it retains some features inherited from it. It could be worse, rectangular headlights, rounded lines, etc.

If that door line in the photo of the SWB is right, and it's not a photoshop job, then there's naff all room in the back - probably not even enough for a bale of hay Shocked

Recently Spanish Guardia Civil de Tráfico (national trafic gendarmerie) bought a fleet of Disco 5 at a low price, so I hope Land Rover will launch the new Defender in basic version too. Maybe not now but in the near future. At least if they want to sell 100.000 Defender / year

Oh dear ,I see just another bloody urban SUV in a world of SUVs !

I also fail to see a distinctive product that will create a huge demand and be seen the world over , especially
at premium pricing .

I see another Discovery 5 sales flop here .

What is know the world over as the Defender , was a commercial vehicle , this is a leafy suburb suv ,

Like all the other Land Rovers .

What JLR needs is a sale success right now , sales are in free fall despite the investment in new
platforms and the word is out that there vehicles are far from premium .

Tata will now look to a business partner to help dig JlR out of this hole of their own making .

They are making sweeping cut backs on expenditure , here's an idea , sack your design team .

Any design team that can hash one of the most iconic vehicles in the world ,needs to go !

Not even tested in Australia , epic fail .

.

Mike, not tested in Australia - no option to fit 35inch mud terrain tyres, No simple suspension system, air bags that will fail in the Simpson desert and will drop the car to access height, no back country support or spares, does not say Land Cruiser on the bonnet.

Might as well forget that market Whistle

No need to test it in Aus or any other remote harsh environment.... I'm sure a 12 year old graduate at JLR "tested" it via their ipad and the algorithym says it was AOK Whistle Rolling with laughter

Funny how many other companies successfully run premium car *and* commercial ranges without any problems. Ford and Mercedes-Benz are two examples that come to mind. Yet JLR somehow think they are wrong???

And Mercedes also seem to be able to market what is essentially the same vehicle to both ends of the spectrum i.e. the G Wagon which is available in basic military spec and full rapstar bling versions. Land Rover could've done the same with the Defender but they've burnt the farm and become just another SUV brand.

They have missed a trick with an Icon they could have wrapped the shell around new interior / chassis with air bags etc

G wagon / G class still looks the same fundamentally as it did when first out. Wrangler did also.

This just looks like a small range rover, price will suit. Family xs type 110 will guess £50k plus...

Unless it's not and they are all fooling us....
