Powder coat or paint wolf wheels?
Just about to start on a rebuild of my old 90 and am replacing the old rusty modulars with wolf wheels. Want to preserve them as best I can so what is more durable -powder coating or painting. Your experience would be appreciated.

If you can find a very good powder coat shop i would do that. But if you don’t know a great shop i would paint them.

If one can did a good powder coat shop he or she can most definitely find a good paint shop! 😄

I used FX 2K Paint from Buzz Weld, i went for the smooth option. It's hard as nails! 2007 2.4 90 fettled & remapped.

I'm glad to see this topic as I was thinking of posting the same thing myself.

The ways the Wolfs are made, I can well imagine the blasting media used before powder coating getting stuck in the nooks and crannies, so I was starting to veer towards paint for mine, currently in Land Rover's finest black primer.

we have tried both if the wheels are old blast and powder coat and it will hide all the pitting.
the waxoyl or similar in the cracks.crevice that rusts

usually we blast and paint for cost effective finish and this we do on new wheels as the paint of them is so thin it wont last 12 mths without rusting

we have a few good places for both local to us in lancashire although the powder coaters never has them ready when they say.
