Decided to swing by the girlfriend as her brother's not doing so well..
Anyway, was transiting from Lakes back to Newcastle, stopped off to get a bite to eat, parked the car in full sight, locked bikes on the roof and clamped down, only to see while im tucking into my starter a helmet (motorbike / scooter) appear from behind my car unstrapping the rear wheel... (decided to eat there because of how close the car park is and it was a busy populated area) Gave chase but the pair of them did off on a moped. I never leave the bikes on the roof, only for either getting to the trails or going between the east and the west... Lesson learned, That's the last time im going to Hull... (she lives in Beverley) |

Outskirts of Hull, apparently between two notorious estates... first time visiting, Kingswood retail park maybe?
they where after my whole mountain bike, cut the front strap, busy unclipping the rear when I ran out. it was still locked and another clip in place but.. It was a stolen scooter, spotted by the police |

Lucky escape
That’s one of the reasons I like the bikes in the back. Even then I try not to leave them unless somewhere super safe. Maybe Hull’s just particularly bad; some lads crossing Holderness Road opened the back door of mine to see if there was anything worth nicking when I was stuck in traffic. They’d scarpered down a side street before I’d even got out 2012 110 XS SW Orkney Grey 2003 D2 Td5 Black [SOLD] |

They just don't care do they?
Broad daylight and unnerved by any consequences - whether that's legal consequences or more 'local' administration of justice. Sadly it appears to be all too common. As negative as these stories are - it does help us all by raising awareness and keeping us on our toes. |
