2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Chawton White
Tire Pressure
I am running my 110 with alloys and KM2 265/75/16

I HATE the way the truck rides. I am planning to change to bilsteins but before I do I was wondering if tire pressure might make the truck ride better. All on road use. Right now I bounce down the road.

What should I set the pressure to?

What pressures are you running with just now? With 235 and 265's I run 30psi front and 35psi rear, 40 psi (rear) when towing. With the 305's it's 30 psi all round Thumbs Up

Sorry if I'm suggesting something you're already aware of but have you tried the chalk test? It's a bit open to your personal interpretation how the marks have worn but it's not a bad guide.....

Just in case you not aware of it.... I was taught the following

On smooth, level and dry tarmac, draw some broad chalk lines across the tread surface of your tyres. Drive forward in a straight line maybe 25-30 meters, then look at the chalk marks

If they've worn away more in the middle of the tyre than on the outside the pressure is too high
If they've worn away more on the outside than in the middle the pressure is too low
If they've worn away evenly over the width of the tyre your pressure is pretty much spot on

On 235's for my 110 and using the above I've got to 30 on the front and 37 on the back being about right for me. Unladen and not towing. Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Just checked my pressure. These tires are new. I have only put 2000 miles on them and 2500 on the truck.

Anyway they are all set to 38 psi give or take. Should I go 30 in the front and 35 in the back. The truck really is just used n road and not loaded up for now.

Try it and see if it suits, play about with the pressures but 38 all round explains the hard ride Thumbs Up

Will try it today. I would think though that you wold want more pressure in the front due to the weight of the engine but obviously I have no idea.

Will report back with my results.
