Extending seat rails for second row. Puma 110
Hi All
Installed the Exmore trim seat rails (Others available) to the front seats to give a bit of extra room for my knees and the wifey.
I was wondering if there was s similar thing for the second row split seats. Not really to raise them up a bit, but to push them back for extra leg room for adults.
Done a bit of googling and searched the forum, but came up blank.
Thanks in advance

Don't think so. The folding mechanism and the way it locates in the floor would make it a complicated proposition. Darren

Hello

I've just bought some brackets from Far corners,

It tilts the seats back more so you don't sit upright as much. Not fitted yet but blurb from website is below. So in theory more comfort with in a way more leg room.

https://farcorners.co.uk/product/far-defen...at-risers/

Will report when fitted

there was a lengthy post not long ago on the brackets from far corners.

i have them fitted, they dont move the seat back but improve the angle and make it far more comfortable to adults in the back. Cheers

I can't find the post you're referring to, but James (JOW240725) has a set of brackets by Far Corners that seems to be better then the ones on their website. (Probably twice the cost though)
I'll drop them a line tomorrow and see why it's not actually a stock item. James, Any ideas?

At one time Exmoor used to carry a set that I believe was made by Hofele.

Still haven't installed mine yet, as my kids aren't at the point that they need the leg room in the back seat yet, but my 15 year old is growing like a weed and did ask if I still had the set. Something taels me they will be going in soon.

This is the thread, started by Stacey007 who's posted above:

In that thread James (JOW240725) explains that his were made by Far Corners but were not wholly successful, hence their change of design. Darren

This forum is just great. So much historical knowledge. I'm spending a fortune on bits, but at least i know i'm getting the right bits. Bow down

Sp apart fomr the Kakn design and Chelsea Truck at a grand, Far Corners seem to have the only viable seat raiser thing on the market. Seems strange as the original Mud rails now have a hundred copies.

Still doesn't do exactly what i want, but will be better and not prohibitaly expensive. Will call Far corners tomorrow. At £125 with a 10mm space it's still a lot of money for a box section and flat bar..

Dragging up an old post but are these for the early 3 individual rear seats? Had a set years ago and sold the vehicle with them with the vehicle and I’m after another set

Shame. They have some attractive, unique items that meet some niche requirements. I've twice tried to order from them this year and not succeeded on either occasion.

Far Corners are still going, that post was just a blip heat of the moment issue apparently. So you can still get them, but unfortunately Far Corners delivery and communication still hasn't improved. They seem to communicate via Instagram quite frequently. James

When I had to reach out to Far Corners in the past, I found out that using FaceBook Messenger was the best (well, ... only) option that worked to get any sort of attention. Just search for their FaceBook page and from their you can click on the "send a message" button. Worked for me.

On the second row seat risers/legroom extensions bracket topic, I do have the Far Corners ones, which are basically a very well made spacer to be added to the existing seats front fixing. It does what it says, and does it well. (my 1.85m tall son can testify that he can actually survive long trips). After intensive researching, I came to the conclusion this was the only solution available "off the shelf" to improve second row sitting position while keeping the original puma seats, and without butchering the rear wheel arches to push the seats further to the back.

The only drawback is that it further reduces the already limited amount of leg room for the third row seats Crying or Very sad
There is however a little trick to improve the rake of the third row seats (folding ones), which I always found were too vertical/upright as well. This requires removing some bushes and a washer that is vaguely soldered from the hinges mechanism. I unfortunately do not have any pictures for this as I did the mod 2 years ago, but once you have access to the hinge assembly after having removed the side plastic cover it is pretty obvious what can/should be removed in order to allow the back to recline further. Mines are 95% of the time folded, and only get used very occasionally, however the chaps using them now and then are thankful Very Happy

/Mat
