I gave mine a 5 hour wash & polish a few weeks ago now, and typically a day after, the heavens opened and lashed down dirtiness all over my Duchess!

I do a 3 part wash...
Jet wash down to loosen/remove dirt, then I pressure wash with soap foam, I then sponge down all surfaces to remove further dirt/marks, I then pressure wash down with a wax wash. I then dry with microfiber cloths. This particular day I T-Cut the truck, that took the longest, about 3.5-4 hours.
After the winter I gave it a chassis wash, which was extra time also.

My usual wash time is probably 1.30-2 hours... I don't rush. Very Happy

My truck also has considerably more surface area than yours (in the profile pic) Very Happy & my pops always told me, 'if your going to do something, its worth doing well'!

It only has a wash about 4 times a year, unless I get it particularly dirty.. So I don't mind spending time on it. Mr. Green Regards
Adam

I wish I had the time and patience. Polished Defenders look great.

Think I'm going to treat myself and pay for a proper machine polish and detail soon. Even though it will be covered in mud in a matter of days.

A decent wax and polish not only keeps the paintwork in good condition but also makes cleaning a lot quicker and easier. 2015 HT XS 90

It’s even more therapeutic to take a very fine artist paint brush and carefully apply ACF50 to the foam strips all around the truck between windshield and bulkhead, and upper and lower side/rear body parts. Whistle
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Might be therapeutic but it bugs me that it will soon be covered in mud again in no time at all. Big Cry
