The BMW recall in the UK was largely as a result of a campaign by a "watchdog" type TV program I think?
Maybe we need to get some publicity the same way? |

From what I understand the TV created the publicity and then the recall was ordered by VOSA or whoever. It wasn't voluntary by BMW. |

When it failed I have been climbing a hill downwards. Luckily it died on an almost horizontal passage inbetween. The guys took another 4x4 and towed me upwards. Quite risky. You'd better check the shafts before you leave the road ![]() I would have lost control if I went downhill on more than 35° offroad ... ... and one does not realize anything. Some sort of a gap between pushing and pulling - the video explains it. And then the sudden failure of that tricky dry shaft ![]() |

Surprisingly I had a similar experience with my TD5 R380 gearbox with a few thousand kilometres on it. It was a recent reconditioned one. Anybody have similar experience with the R380?
It’s being fixed under warrantee, but still quite inconvenient |
