I'm intrigued as to the 4.7 litre TVR engine. Their only true 4.7 was their infamous flat plane crank AJP8 in the Cerbera
Of the true RV8's, they made 3.5, 3.9, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5 & 5.0 litre engines so I guess this is a 'one off' race spec. - would love to know more of the details Richard Defender 90 SVX |

You can make most capacities with a mix of parts, we had a factory’s 4.3 V8 Griffith in the very early 90’s as well for your list.

Hat tip.....looks an amazing build. Love to see a photo of the engine bay. Have you thought about putting exhaust cutout valves on it to get that pure V8 rumble at the push of a button.

I have a sneaky feeling the 4.3 Griffiths was actually 4228cc ie closer to 4.2 - could be wrong but this goes back into the mists of time for me! Richard Defender 90 SVX |

Seriously cool,
What amount of torque & revs can an R380 sustain? I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/ Current: TD5 '110 "Lucinda" Thread here: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic62562.html |

I don’t have much info as it was supplied via a friend from his former racing TVR, I was advised it had been race prepared with upgrade cams etc. It’s the quietest engine I’ve heard from under the bonnet it’s super smooth with absolute bedlam from the exhaust Last edited by Albert McFly on 25th Mar 2019 11:16am. It’s a V8 R380 gearbox which is well capable of containing over 300 bhp and associated torque, I’ve not had it on the dyno to get exact figures but I’m comfortable with it considering it came out a race car and now only get driving defender style |
