Hi all
Just a quick one. I’m after a spare wheel carrier to free up some space in the back and don’t want it on the roof rack as can’t fit under car park barriers in town ! I’ve got a pair of ladders going up the back and want to make sure it doesn’t foul them. Does Anyone know of one that fits ? I don’t want to spend a fortune on a nakatenga etc and would rather stay around the £350 mark if possible Thanks Click image to enlarge https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

If your ladder is bolted into the capping then I reckon the safari equip one would just about fit! This bolts below the capping, you would loose your rope tie down point though.
Click image to enlarge It also had the option to come hot dip galvanised before paint so should last a while. Purchased from Brendan at 4x4overlander 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

Pickup with drop down tailgate the choice is reasonably limited
Choices start at the Safari Equip mild steel version (several versions) then move up in price to Nakatanenga, Alisport, Kaymar. Now the safari equip one bolts below top capping and onto the anti luce latch on the nearside. As Roy says you may have issues with the rope cleats. You may have to get creative if you want to keep rope hooks. Brendan |

Get the best. A Nak carrier will fit, no holes to drill, no rattling, no rust, will hold it’s value, easy to fit.

Brilliant , thank you for the replies.
I’ll have a good look at the safari equip , galvanised sound great. I would love the Nakatenga but at that price I can live with my spare on the roof ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |

The other alternative is to change the drop down tailgate to a side hung half door. That would mean a lot more of the standard wheel carriers will be possible solutions.
