Higher engine oil and fuel consumption?
Historically between services, my 2009 2.4tdci 110 hardly used any engine oil.

Twice in the past month I’ve had to top the oil up, so it appears to be using more oil.

Also, it “feels” like it’s using more fuel (not confirmed though - I’ve always tried to avoid working out MPG since I don’t want to scare myself).

No engine warning lights and it’s not running badly, so I’m wondering what could possibly contribute to the fuel/oil consumption?

No addition misting on the engine or oil drips under the car either.

It's done 67k miles, was serviced approx 7k miles ago and the oil had dropped about 1 cm on the dip stick (don't know what that equates to in litres - sorry!)

Check out the injector copper washer/seals. Lots of threads on this as it is a very common issue. I had mine done 2 years ago as it started burning a bit of oil. Since they were changed its gone back to burning nothing between services.

got same problem as rossy, we changed the copper sealings at the bottom of the injectors and it was gone ... be aware the srews are fixed with 6NM at step one and 180 degrees in the 2nd step
