I am still in a dilemma between these or conti cross contacts, thinking Michelin's may be a better choice for my uses. The photo of them fitted to boosts was useful too, they look fine and not really any different to my current grabber trs. A classic understated look Cool

hmmm looks like kwik fit only fit tyres they sell, is that a general rule then? I have 4 tyres in the back lol

Fitted four of these to the 2008 Puma last week. They replaced Continental Contitracs which are no longer available in 235/85/16. The Michelins are very quiet. I never regarded the Contitracs as noisey but the Michelins are really quiet.
I find with the way the Land Rover is set up engine power delivery wise coupled with the gearing and permanent four wheel drive, basic AT tyres will get you most places. In this 2008 Puma which origionally had General Grabber TR tyres fitted then Continental Contitracs I managed with snow and floods. Even frozen snow provided you don't try to climb a 1 in 1 gradient. Braking on frozen snow is the big one. Just drive to the conditions and gentle cadence braking will see you through.
Granted if you need an emergency stop and hit the brakes on frozen stuff you will slide but this will happen no matter what tyres you have. The snow flake will probably stop you a little quicker.
The off road side of things is O.K. too. I never had a problem with AT's in tyre deep mud or clag, i.e. from the bottom of the tyre to the rim or above it.
The price was £130 per tyre fitted and balanced 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Had mine fitted yesterday......they look great and are soooooo much quieter than the GG TR's, a big difference in noise level.

Mine were Blackcircles and fitted at ATS Euromaster - I’ve had them a month now and been very pleased with them - fine in all this rain and standing water too. I’m glad I went for these. Producer / glasses-wearer / Londoner (& er Oxfordshire) 🎬 👓 💂‍♂️

I run 28 psi in front and 35 psi at the rear. This is listed by Land Rover as the "comfort" mode. If you are using the Land Rover fully loaded or towing a heavy trailer to go to 48 psi in the rear. For everyday life the 28/35 psi combination is fine as it is hard to overlaod a Defender as a family car. It's the towing you need to watch.
Just checked and Land Rover say you can go to 32 psi at the rear for everyday use but I've always run at 35 psi. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

What was your fuel mileage between the two like, Conti & Michelins, I've the same issue coming up, on picking the correct tyre. I can't seem to find the EU tyre tag for Conti.

Can't see much of a difference. Another tyre to consider is the Goodyear tyre Wrangler AT Adventure
235/85 R16 120 About €20 cheaper per tyre. Have them on another Puma, another nice tyre.
They have a block type thread but not too pronounced. Would probably clog in deep mud as would the Michelin but a comfortable tyre.
