My first thought would be that the hinge guards wouldn't do this. More likely the striker/catch on the B pillar has moved and needs re-adjusted. There's a few threads on here where I've seen that covered. I think Geobloke did a couple of pics on his 'Miffy' thread.
Maybe you could post some pics of the leading edge of the door - by the front hinges? Just had a further thought. Depending on how you got on with the hinge guards, maybe the process of fitting them has caused some movement, rather than the guards themselves. But I'd still try and fix that by adjusting the latch/striker. Went to have a look at the catch and the screw was loose, moved and retightened, door is shutting flushed. David |

I very much doubt fitting hinge guards would have caused the door to misalign, though when sat in the driver’s seat check you have fitted the guards with enough clearance so they do not foul the door pillar.
I take it you had a look at this fitting vid for the hinge guard. If all is well with the hinge guard fitting then try taking off the door striker plate and then see if the door closes evenly if it does then when refitting just adjust.
