This weekends efforts - the ebay wheels and tyres are now on. The MTs remind me of the old military series II with the way they howl on the tarmac.

I think the photo was one I posted on Pistonheads many years ago but I can't find that thread now, if I remember correctly I took it in the quarry at Dalby, you can just see Simon Clarkes legs in the corner. I've not covered a rally since I retired in 2011, I thought I would miss it but I haven't Laughing Good to see you're still involved and that's a lovely V8 you have there Cool

Quite partial to a V8 myself, this is my 50th anniversary v8

and I've got a Full Fat Range Rover v8 also now Mr. Green

Yes, that was the quarry. That's a lovely 50th Ian, and the FFRRs not bad either Laughing

I've been involved in the Trackrod for many years as it was my home club and really I've never left. I'm back again this year doing safety car and Chief Marshal and will also have the MSUK Safety Delegate with us.

More to come on the 90 - another event planned for the end of March Very Happy 90 V8 CSW - 1988

Yes, the snorkel is coming off - appears to me to be a bit of a waste of time as the dizzy and plug caps are all exposed

It's had a Kenlow fan conversion, a new rear cross member, replacement doors and a pretty comprehensive history.

I've managed to talk a friend into navigating on our first event - more to follow once it's been MoT'ed
Just noticed the pics, looks like a pretty solid original vehicle to me. Is the exhaust ok, or do you need to "free it up" a bit to enjoy that lovely V8 "sound"?!

Thanks - yes, from the MoT it's a good solid truck.

Over time I'm going to look at the exhaust, but it's just had a system on it to get through the test. I think the options are: 3.9 manifolds and a bigger system - or drop a 3.9 in and put a sports system on it.

Before then I'm just going to use it. The first event is a trial on Sunday, then a TYRO mid-March and a navigational event at the end of the month. 90 V8 CSW - 1988

Hello from Aussie.
In the meantime, just a free flow "Straight through" muffler, with a 2.5" tail pipe would do the job very well at minimal cost.

The first SCOR trial of the year, held at Aldermaston some may be familiar with the site. There were a few very special trials machines there so we had plenty to watch.

The other competitors were a really friendly bunch and very welcoming. I'd highly recommend getting to one of their events, even if you just want to go and watch.

We did hit a tree on one section, so the 90 has been blooded
