I had the double version of one like that on a Land Rover years ago, they are ok but every now and again many Anglo Saxon expletives would follow after I'd bashed my shins on the thing while loading and unloading. The dogs would sometimes also use it instead of jumping straight in and out and I was always wary of them catching their claws or pads in between the bars. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Agreed, I had a double one on an old Series - great idea until I fitted it, they just stick out too far. It didn't last long before it was removed. John

Just de-rusted and sprayed mine. As well as the tow bar and rear cross member. Rather pleased with the results (took come cunning useage of masking tape) but not so pleased it needed doing in the first place. Still appears solid though but definitely looks like a weak point. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Just found this thread. Our rear step is also pulling out. Local Dealer said he had not seen any doing it before and that we must have hit it! Wish I had been aware of it being the subject of a service bulletin before we took it in
What is the official land rover fix Thanks Keith 2010 110 Utility Station Wagon 1996 110 Station Wagon |

Guess part of this is also big washers on the inside of the bumper! Our problem is the whole bumper bending rather than the rivnuts pulling through the existing holes. Keith 2010 110 Utility Station Wagon 1996 110 Station Wagon |
