A light sanding, clean with degreaser, etch primer wait 24hrs then touch up paint not sure on drying time prior to lacquer. There is some proper techers for blending if you search YouTube

Thanks Mash, much appreciated. The def is not quite 6 years old, is it worth a chat with LR re warranty or am I kidding myself?

Hi,
I would temporary mask the surrounding area to save any scratches to the paintwork. Gently sand the damaged area and feather in the edges so you have a smooth surface. If there is any signs of oxidisation then you can use solution like ALI-CLEAN before painting, see attached photo. Once the area is thoroughly rinsed and dried then use couple of thin coats of etching primer which can be sanded down with 400 grit wet sandpaper after 20/30 minutes drying time. You can either spray the repaired area or use very fine artist brush to paint the area. The lacquer should be sprayed within 2 hours after spraying the top coat. ![]() Click image to enlarge Good luck 👍 |
