No, the've just brought out the "new" Range Rover Evoque to attract even more hairdressers. What we need is a full off roader for the hair raisers. Defender 90XS SW

It really seems as though they have no interest in that market at all.

Yes, I've heard of many instances where deposits are left before full details of the vehicle are known, which is something I would NEVER do.

Land Rover as we know it died when the last Defender rolled off the production line. The new one will be a Slovakian Discovery in a jelly mould Defenderish outfit. My guess is it will be a huge commercial success for JLR. I may even buy one to replace our crappy Evoque but I know it won’t take my heart like a proper Land Rover.

Tenner says it does real well first release quarter, then dries up due to poor reliability or just being bad.

Even newer discos come in 2wd these days.

Road rover.

Mid Range "Luxury" cars for those who know nothing about cars... or fans...

Lets be honest, The land cruiser and jimney are better than all LR offerings combined either from qualitative and technological or economical edge

maybe,

i had a 2015 defender, loved it but sold it

also drove a disco sport for 3 weeks, much better in many ways, but the styling didn't excite me

i said to the bloke at the dealer that if the new defender drove like the disco sport ,but looked a bit more defender than id be interested.

so there fore currently I am (deposit paid )

although last week i bought a disco 4 which I'm quite enjoying the comfort and effortless cruising power

if its REALLY bad, ill get a Jimny instead, by which time the waiting list will have come down

It surely will. With a 20% import duty levied by your taxman of course. Laughing
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

My wife has a Disco Sport and like Cozz says it's a superb drive and certainly performs off road better than any of its competitors. I was at a horsey event last year where an Audi Q5 and a BMW X3 were stuck halfway up a grassy slope. Much to the annoyance of SWMBO I just had to prove to them they were driving the wrong 4x4's and the Disco Sport just sailed past them. I must be honest, it surprised me as well.

Taking up Oslo Blue's point I think that JLR are diminishing the marque by having 2WD options. They should stick to 4WD and AWD. Defender 90XS SW
