I'm looking at changing my grille to a black one and have stumbled on the Powerful UK SVX grille and headlight upgrade.
Has anyone fitted it to an AC Puma? A normal set is £150 ish so these are only a few quid more. The video looks easy enough but wanted to see if it stands the test of time and also see if anyone has tried their LED DLR headlight. AT £50 for the set or 99 for the complete SVX upgrade, they seem reasonable for a more modern look. https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-r...black.html https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-r...s-rhd.html Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I have to agree, I think you'll find it looks a bit clunky in the flesh. If you are keen on getting one then it might pay to put a wanted ad in the for sale section here, as many people with genuine SVX front ends revert back to standard 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Hmmm. interesting. I have to admit i'm 50/50. May just spray my existing XS bits and add a decent set of headlights and a protector.
Mine's silver and needs a black front as it's just a bit boring.... Thanks for being honest. No feelings hurt. I don't want to create an ugly motor... |

Spraying your grille and light surounds black would suit the colour of your Defender.
Regarding head lights the Nolden gen 1 are great lights if your pockets are deep. If you go for conventional lights Wipac crystals look good with uprated H4 lamps, but if you do this best to fit the Landzieger head light relay loom as well. 2016 Defender Landmark 90 2005 Defender CSW TD5 90XS |

Thanks for the info.
Ive upgraded the sidelights and indicators already and will speak to Brendan about the headlights as i need some other bits. Ok. Going for this as it just bolts on and if I don't like it i can just swap back to grey and sell on. https://www.lrparts.net/lrc6035-defender-x...-1994.html |

My mate fitted it to his 300tdi
Click image to enlarge Personally I think you are doing the right thing with the choice above. I don’t think the svx front is as popular now. After a period of reflection I'm 100% going for the more OEM black look from LR parts.
Will take a few photos of the car before and after. May end up going back to Silver or trying the adventure grill etc... Hmmm... Question is adverture grille. gloss black or XS in satin... Hmm again. https://www.lrparts.net/lrdg111-kit-blk-fr...black.html or https://www.lrparts.net/lrc6035-defender-x...-1994.html it's a 110 in silver. |

For m3 it would be satin, unless you have black gloss other bits.

Thanks Andy
Definitely satin then as just have a line of checker plate down near the sills in black. But not shiny. Also going to wrap the roof in 3M satin. I love the look of yours. It's the look I was going for. Have you ever thought about a grille that covers the front end completely replacing the AC sticky out bit. Like the adventure one? |
