Each to their own. I’ve got a different view, and experience of Ashcrofts.

Synchro gearboxes are producing some lovely lt230 transfer box’s in a very strong spec. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Aschroft and the price difference invest in torque biasing center diff. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

yep they do. unfortunately they're also the reason for me looking for a new box. not saying they don't do some great products but it didn't work out for me. hopefully Ashcrofts will. |

without going into detail my box went in for a rebuild with ATB and I ended up with a different box - my casing got trashed and I now have a td5 casing. I was of the understanding it was another puma casing but unfortunately not - at the time I was non the wiser.

From a practical perspective, is there any difference between a TD5 case and a Puma one? Darren

very little I believe. one item being the drain plug. one uses a plug with 1/2" drive (I believe) the other uses what I'd describe as a bolt / washer. in other words no (from a practical perspective)
