Delocking a defender handles
Hi

I wanted to delock my defender, it has central locking and I could get in through the boot if necessary (plan on installing security lock on rear door)

Can anyone confirm if the rear door handles fit straight into front doors? So I can buy a pair of bearmach rear handles and fit in the front doors

Thanks
Jit

You could just buy two passenger door handles no? My passenger door handle didn’t have a lock in them. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Thanks

Actually looking at pics it looks as though the handle mechanism is different on left and right doors

I may try just removing the locking mechanism from the inside and putting a blank in or just let the lock spin, will take a look

LR066529 is part number for the 'blanked' RH door handle

If you're feeling flush...

The lever on the handles are different from LH to RH but easily swapped over. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

Just disconnect inside the door, including the ‘button’ inside.

The lock then has no function....
