Mobile storage system do the T chest as I have fitted in mine, I can fit 2 x slipped shotguns in mine no problem.
Mine is funny carpeted inside also. Secure it to the floor, and is lockable via 2 decent integrated locks either end. Maybe if some use ? Dependant on length of your rifle. Another option which I have seen done is to have a steel chest made, it mounts lengthwise on the inside if the rear panel ( either side, left or right ) then the rear quarter glass is replaced with a lockable sealed door ( assuming you have the little windows either side of the door , even better if you don't. ) Then from the outside you simply open the lockable door, and slide the rifle into the container. Neat, and very little impact on the space internally, and no need to actually get in the back of the landy. Click image to enlarge "Procrastination is the thief of time" |

Personally I wouldn't want anything heavy that high up that was not bolted onto something substantial in case of an accident as it would be at the correct height to remove your head. The Brattonsound VS 3 vehicle safe is the biggest and takes a Sako .308 (85 synthetic) plus optics but you need to remove the moderator to get it to fit. This safe gives you the option of getting the home fixing bracket to use the safe in the house. When fitted into the Puma there are only 4 small brackets in the carpet when you remove the safe.

Windowlicker - I like the sound of your second option. I will look into this further, thank you. Do anyone that supplies the system you mentioned?
Lorryman100 - Thank you for the info, stupidly I never thought of possible decapitation. Good point. The type of use I require is for short distance trips on sat mornings or evenings. Having it lockable is not a necessity, the storage is really to keep the rife from being knocked. Stanley - Thanks for the link. I will check dimensions tonight. |

Gun us,
Speak to Mobile Storage Systems. Although not exactly the same, they made an overhead lockable shelf with drop down doors for me. It sits in the roof void above the linement of windows and rear door and will take a fair bit of weight as when it is all bolted up it is very solid and secure. Photos aren't the clearest but this one shows the drop down door/flap. Click image to enlarge |

Hi
I am searching the site for gun drawer recommendations. Like many, I also wish to leave space for the dog so want to avoid the extra height in my 110 Adventure. This high drawer looks good. Mobile Storage are not answering right now. Has anyone seen other similar options? Or even come across another solution? Many thanks |

What you are asking for is easily made.
I made a small draw accessible from the side door, however this works because I no longer have rear seats ( removed ) . Click image to enlarge Although I made the draw shorter as I have a tool box slid from the other side and a small compartment for storing valuables it can be upto 1200mm with the correct runners fitted. When closed you don’t notice the draw as such. Click image to enlarge When the carpets are fitted and the draw is Foam lined for the rifle to sit in, it’ll be snug and secure. I’m thinking of fitting a 12v deadlock fitted to a switch so it can’t be opened unless the switch is activated somewhere else in the vehicle. Is it air rifles you want to carry or something bigger which requires heavy security? Either way, a joinery shop or a carpenter can make something up for you easily to match your exact needs, do you know anyone? |

I have a dog box that runs along on side in the back of my 90 and at the top of it I have built a shelf that holds shotgun or rifle, out of site and slows them to protrude over the passengers head in he case ofmy rifle as it has a 26” barrel. They are then bungee corded down. It isn’t secure, so I wouldn’t leave them in there but it makes good use of unusable space and keeps them out of eye shot.
If you don’t have the dog box it would be easy enough to install a shelf of similar off the roof mount flanges. This isn’t the best picture, but if You look hard you will see the lip on he shelf that stops things banging about. It is lined with 20mm foam to grip whatever is up there and provide a bit of cushion for the rifle scope. Click image to enlarge |

Thank you for the replies. Some great ideas there. Being hopeless at DIY I am hoping to find a ready made solution.
