London to Exmoor traffic question

Need to go to London W1U 5NY 7th of July because a specialist doctor needs to see my daughter. After this we would like to go to Exmoor and visit an adopted Pony.

As i know traffic around London is never easy

here my question:

What is the better time to leave London without too much traffic jam? Friday evening or Saturday VERY early?

Vehicle is a standard passanger car

Saturday morning, doesn't have to be very early. The A303 can be the bottle neck bit, were doing it tomorrow for a wedding

Been there! Very nice place. Did some hiking with the kids and my daughter fell in love wit the ponies there.

And a very nice chap adopted Abbi for her, so we want to visit Abbi the Exmoor pony!
