It's a business seller with an address and a VAT no., so likely to be legit. Darren

Looks like a business bought a couple of write offs to strip and sell bits and this is all the broken/damaged stuff and the stuff that no one wanted to buy that’s left. Ray

Most Scrap Yards from days of old were legitimate businesses with VAT numbers but that still didn't mean that a shed load of the scrap metal being pedaled through them wasn't nicked?

New regulations and laws with the recycling industry has in recent times curtailed that, but a registered business is no guarantee of being legitimate.

This bloke selling these bits may well be above board and completely legal, but considering the amount of Defenders which are being stolen and probably stripped for parts, I think we all need to be a bit more careful where we are buying our second hand parts from.

Procta's Defender has shown that one day it's there and the next day it's not. There is always going to be a sale for nicked gear, whatever it is, but if we can't be comfortable that the parts we are buying are all legal and come from legitimate sources we should not buy them, especially so if they are unreasonably cheap.

Trading with the people who pedal these parts is just upping the risk that your pride and joy will be nicked to fuel their trade.

That's not an attack on this eBay trader specifically, but the bay does have a bit of a reputation.

Also, if you do buy parts from a dodgy source they then have an address where a potential target is kept.

At first I thought "dodgy" especially as they have a "property in southern Spain"!

And that feedback score is appalling.

But then I saw it was one negative and three positive, on a total of four sales - and the other items for sale seem legit.

Good idea to keep highlighting those online sales that might be suspicious, though.
