Well,
Finally the new Allisport radiator arrived today and will be installed next week. Some questions here: Shall I do a chemical washing of the cooling system to improve the heat transference? Any advice on this point? Anyone has used Ceratec from Liquimoly? Cheers to all thanks for all the advices! Have you thought on extending by 2 inches the lower half fan shroud? I was just looking at it and there is some room to do it. Of course not sure if it works but several engines have a complete shroud all around. Slds Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Already done using the nakatenga extender.
The difference is just 2-5°C less, but do not provide the final solution. Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Ahhh...
Anyway the effect should be the same (put the fan more inside the cover) Cheers! Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

did you install the "original" thermostat or the "cooler" one? Exists 3 types of thermostat configurations: - PEM100990 88°C - 96°C HARD SPRING - PEL500110 82°C - 89°C SOFT SPRING - PEM101020 82°C - 89°C HARD SPRING I installed the PEM101020 (original was PEM100990) with uprated intercooler and Nakatanenga fan extender. Tested the configuration on Morocco desert at more than 45° C and the car was fine also on sand (mine is also remapped) Soft spring configuration should be a problem during the winter with temp closer to the 0° C or below.... in 88kkm I think happened twice I got into limp mode because of the cooling system is not up to the job under "demanding circumstances". I am planning to fit an adjustable electric fan controller that comes with a sort of temp probe sensor which is installed through the rad fins and of course I will try to use the A/C fan.
Anyway, I believe relay #6 located under the seat is controlling the A/C fan. Do you see a problem by wiring such controller into the same relay? does the original fan take more than 20 amps? I´m quite incompetent when it comes to wiring (in other stuff as well of course) thanks in advance MK Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Finally I was able to install the new radiator.
So far so good! Temps was not going over 96°C with a air inlet temp of 34°C. Car medium load at 120 KPH in 6th gear in a mild lomg slope Still I need to have more points to compare (higher temps) Dgardel: I have the "cooler" thermostat (PEL500110) not problem here with temps below 0°C, Allisport intercooler and the Nakatenga spacer. I'm not using the remap now to see the behavior and do a VCV learning (still not done) Cheers! Second test
Tested again yesterday with inlet temperatures of 36°C, almost fully loaded in a highway were always develope this problem at high speeds (120 KPH). Temperature never goes over 100°C staying more of the time in the range of 90-97°C. without the A/C. So, appears that the radiator change have been the solution for my overheat problems Let´s we see next week Cheers!
