check out the newer 4/3's etc, much better for the usual operator...
i have a oly em1 mk2 and a em5 mk2 (which i really need to sell just remembered i still have it ) loads smaller and equally as impressive imo. the new sony's would be where my money went now if i wasnt so heavy into oly lenses. |

I've just bought myself a Sony RX-10 M3 as well, yet to try it in anger. Same reasoning really, I'm too lazy to carry my 6D and range of lenses and almost invariably have the wrong lens fitted when I want to take a shot or even worse have left the best one at home.
I've got a trip to Costa Rica planned this year and have some internal flights where the camera and lens kit breach the carry on limits. I thought I'd try out something simpler and see if it works as a complete replacement. |

The wife and I both have Canon D5, but the older MK1. We’ve had them from new and still have a lot to learn from them. They have met all our needs so far, so no need for upgrading. We have spent a ton of money on lenses so will always stay Canon.

Nikon D90 and a D600.
I’ve got three prime lenses, filters, etc and I never really use it anymore. I used to do a lot of photos at the local rugby club but haven’t bothered much lately so I’ve got a few thousand quid sat in a Peli Case wasted but I can’t bring myself to sell it and I’d probably get peanuts anyway. |

I still have, from my press days, several Canon A1 bodies with a host of FD fit lenses and accesories.
Currently I'm running a Canon 1D Mk.3 with a couple of L series lenses but hope to have, in the near future, a Canon 5DS R. |

I had the D610 which was the ' rushed ' out replacement for the D600 after the oil issue, however they're identical. You'd be surpised on price, i got £900 for the body and 18-55 kit lens, £130 for a 70-300 lens and i still have the 50mm prime. I paid out £1500 2nd hand for it originally, but i believe i had more than £500 worth of fun out if it |

My SLR timeline:
Minolta X300 Minolta X700 Nikon D50 Nikon D5300 Nikon D7100 I've still got the Minoltas and the D50 (still fully working), but the D5300 went on a p/x for the D7100 via https://www.mpb.com about a year ago. Whilst still a DX frame, the D7100 is a good step up from the D5300 series in useful functionality. Most of my summer photos are at athletics events so superfast AF is a priority for me and the D7100 delivers. I'm now in the market for a nice f2.8 >200mm zoom that doesn't cost the earth. Taken with the D5300 Taken with the D7100 (but mangled by facebook since) Click image to enlarge |
