Wolf Door - Check Straps
Hi Guys,

Need a bit of help, and guidance here.

Our TD5 is fitted with wolf doors with the sliding top windows.

Only problem is that the door bottoms are not fitted with any door checkstraps, which is becoming a pain.

The original door checkstrap mounts are still fitted to the chassis in the original locations, and the swan neck ( or S shape?) but as they don’t fit the wolf doors they were. Just rattling about so we took them out.

Can I just purchase wolf door checkstraps and for those? If so what part number do I need and where would we get them from.

Seems the real issues is that the check strap mounting position is not at the same height on the body as it is on the wolf doors?

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Thanks in advance,

You could bodge it using the series 3 items above - as shown on the red door. Only joking, just attached that photo to illustrate your dilemma! Also if you have door cards they’ll won’t fit or need cutting to adapt.

However the Wolf check strap will fit. Remove the plastic cover over the swan neck Td5 check strap. The strap is held on with 3 bolts. The Wolf one fits in place and aligns with the sliding recess in the door panel.

See parts book attachments for the original parts and the Wolf type bits you’ll need. This strap mounts in the same place using the same bolt part numbers.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

So is that the bracket that goes onto the body?

Which actuall check strap do we need that goes onto the door?

Not sure it might still be fitted, but will need to check.

That’s brilliant info thanks!

I think as we have the swan necks still fitted, the bodge you illustrate on the red door is the easy option for us.

So will look to get some of those mounts.

Thanks again.
