Runs fine with full fuel tank
Puma starts and runs perfectly when the fuel tank is full. Once about a third used takes a little longer to start and there's a hesitation on acceleration particularly when cold. Fill the tank and all is perfect. It has been consistently like this for several months.

No fault codes, new crankcase breather, new injectors, new pressure valve at the back of the pump, new fuel filter.

Any thoughts?

I would start with the easy checks first. Have you checked fuel tank breather pipe for blockage, or is there signs of a vacuum building up in the tank as you use fuel (hissing when you remove the fuel cap).

When you take the fuel cap off after your fuel tank has been running from full down to say 80% or so, do you hear a hissing sound? If so, it could mean that your fuel cap breather valve is blocked, and a vacuum is developing in your fuel tank which makes it more difficult for the fuel pump to draw a fuel supply. Same symptoms as you describe happened to me years ago, and a new fuel cap with a proper working breather valve solved it all,
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

I thought about the cap and put a new one on a few weeks ago. Also there is no vacuum build up. A new fuel tank breather was installed sometime ago as the old one was leaking but as there is no vacuum in the tank I assume that the breather is working okay?

Are those symptons from multi drives taking fuel level down or from one journey? Cheers

so over time you would therefore expect the tank to stabilise.

does sound fuel supply related. not something stupid like sender is giving message for restricted performance thinking tank is too low?

sounds like the first option changes/check have already been done. Cheers
