2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Aintree Green

Munich Defenders

Driven the truck down to Munich for the Christmas markets.

On the way down I only saw 1 other defender.

However, now weâ€™re in Munich, theyâ€™re every where! My girlfriend thinks Iâ€™ve lied about visiting the markets and thereâ€™s actually some sort of defender show going on

Does anyone know why are there so many in Munich?

Is it snowing? Perhaps the inferior German soft roaders have all hidden.

Yea, we drove down overnight and there was loads of snow on the way. Maybe three / four inches which had settled on the autobahn for 40/50 miles.

I reckon I was the fastest person on the autobahn! The soft roaders just couldnâ€™t safely keep up.

Really pleased with my new tyres! An incredible amount of grip on fresh snow, slush and on icey bits.

There is quite a lively Defender scene in Germany. Was that way even before they got trendy

Iâ€™m running the new Cooper Discoverer A/T3 4s in 265.

The 4sâ€™ are the mountain / snowflake symbol version.

Iâ€™ll do a full write up when Iâ€™m back and Iâ€™ve had a chance to use them off road, but so far Iâ€™m really impressed with them.

2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 SW Indus Silver

We were in Munich two days ago, and were also surprised to see so many (mostly late black 110 SWÂ´s) parked and driving around in the centre of town. Avalon (the Munich LR dealer) must have done a scorching trade on Defenders in 2012 - 16.

Come to think of it, in Hamburg recently, we were similarly surprised to see many earlier (pre Puma) Defenders (often with overland/camping equipment) were parked up in the residential areas.

In Germany, where they the authorities are making it as unattractive as possible to run a dated (or less than euro6d) in the cities, it is amazing how many Defenders there are.

Of course, once you have a roof rack, tent or raised roof fitted, finding a garage for one in town becomes near impossible. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,
