A slower week.....waiting for parts
This isn't a 'better than it left the factory' restoration - don't have the budget for that, but instead we are trying to source reasonable quality parts that won't break the bank Flywheel skimmed to remove score marks Brakes & brake line assembly underway Fuel tank fitted 'A' Frame with new brackets fitted A couple of wiring repairs And Springs / shocks getting fitted Click image to enlarge 2000 D2 TD5 - ahhh bless 2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed 1997 300tdi d90 - now with electrics that work! - now with a brand new custom made soft top fitted …...…...............….new chassis now all fixed and driving like new 2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara) 2016 D4 battery magically fixed with NOCO charger |

Its a Richards.
Click image to enlarge Was considering a shielder, but the descision was easy as the garage had the RC in stock! 2000 D2 TD5 - ahhh bless 2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed 1997 300tdi d90 - now with electrics that work! - now with a brand new custom made soft top fitted …...…...............….new chassis now all fixed and driving like new 2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara) 2016 D4 battery magically fixed with NOCO charger |

Hi Frenchy, Did you spray or hand paint the chassis? I'm about to take delivery of a Series 2a chassis and plan to do the same. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Hand painted with black satin 'G.I.O' from Buzzweld.
Degreased and rinsed, then painted directly onto the Galvanised Chassis. I suppose spaying might have been easier for all the nooks and crannies (of which there are dozens ). Finish was OK, and I used about 1.5 litres in total 2000 D2 TD5 - ahhh bless 2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed 1997 300tdi d90 - now with electrics that work! - now with a brand new custom made soft top fitted …...…...............….new chassis now all fixed and driving like new 2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara) 2016 D4 battery magically fixed with NOCO charger |
