Hello,

isn't the the cam cover vented into the air pipes (pre-turbo) ?

i am so happy i have rediscovered this page.. (have been looking for days now) I have a leaking cam cover gasket and not sure if i go through the hassle of doing the injector loom too. seems fine at the moment.

Any hints or advice about this job? (first time messing with the td5 engine)

Is that Loctite SI 5980 black sealant you used? I guess most silicone based sealants should be non-conductive but I am afraid of the corrosive properties of silicone in general.

Thumbs Up

joe

This is interesting, l replaced my cam cover gasket because oil was leaking down the back of the engine, and it’s never leaked a drop since.
I didn’t use any sealant, but l should have, as the first time I fitted the new gasket it didn’t locate properly in the half moon part and l had to take it all off again.

Hi all
Do you think araldite will work for sealing the loom ? Looked at loads of different sealers.
And by reading the packet this looks like a good call.
