Genuine LR are roughly £65 or you can get the same in a britpart box OEM from ISLAND4x4 for £20+ vat part number AMR6103G (make sure it has the ‘G’ on the end) leoni, who makes most car looms. I always change the rocker box gasket also ERR7094G about £10 again OEM REINZ (15p engine)

Fit genuine ideally otherwise you’ll be doing it again soon always replace rocker gasket as the half moon at back distorts and will leak
Don’t forget a can of electrical cleaner for loom connector and injector connectors as well as red plug on ecu 2008 110 2.4 XS Utility (Hagrid) 2002 90 TD5 Hardtop (Sully) Sold 1998 300TDi D1 (Billy) Sold |

As in the post above, the Britpart one is genuine LR in a Britpart box at 1/3 the price.
Shows how much LR make on parts. |

Use genuine
I am always slightly worried when parts are re-packaged as genuine LR....personally prefer to see the LR logo |

Very rare I use britpart but I’ve bought a genuine LR look in the box was the same as the the britpart (G)? Both made by ITT CANNON ! Looked identical so unless the Genuine Land Rover loom has better protection against oil I couldn’t tell the difference.
I’ve had defenders since I started driving always TD5 and fitted a new Loom every 12 months as they are so cheap, and to avoid any oil getting to the ECU and the britpart (G) has been fine. But I agree genuine LR is my first choice normally. |

I'm about to put in an order to duckworth parts.
Amazingly this is the second time I'm needed to do this in two years I have a 1999 TD5 Defender. Are these the parts I need or is there anything else I should be ordering? Thanks a lot. Im always keen to learn more...could you please describe the difference between the genuine article and the OEM loom? https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42463.html If it is the same item and/or manufacturer but with a different warantee, that is fine too,.....but are the components that make up the loom of a different quality as well? I went with the genuine rocker cover gasket as I didnt want any leaks and so far so good. Cheers Patrick |
