Piston cooling jets

Thought some of you might like to see the difference between the old and updated parts.

Where you able to change then by just removing the sump? I remember looking at the manual and couldn't quite decide if more had to be removed or not.

Interesting, thanks. I didn't realise that they were visually different and that is useful to know.

It's also counter-intuitive since there appears to be nothing complex in the old one which would cause the hysteresis problem, but the new one looks like it might!

I believe that the ladder frame has to come off, making it an engine-out job.

Does it mean that even the old style is sopposed to do the job they are not as good as the newer type? Puma 110" SW

That’s what I was trying to work out, I think you maybe could but it would be super super super fiddly to do. I guess they’ve made them so there’s instant and even pressure?

But yeah definitely think it would be an easier job with it out of the car and the ladder frame out. There is a window in the ladder though.

Funny engine- three different standard piston and rod lengths alone- why ever will they think of next?
