Hannah White is the person to ask, as she is Land Rover's Global Brand Ambassador and Chairman of the Above and Beyond Committee (No I know - you couldn't make it up could you?). I'm sure if you ask her she's sure to have a copy of their Mission Statement and Vision Statement.
Land Rover kicked off their Above and Beyond worldwide advertising campaign with a 1min 19 second TV advert. It took a MONTH to film it (again you couldn't make it up could you!). I wonder how much of the £90m loss from the last quarter was spent on marketing? Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

I used to get the "Go beyond" slogan as it went hand in hand with a Land Rovers all terrain capabilities. But not above, it makes it sound a bit arrogant and status climbing, but I guess that's what they want, a "premium" brand and image!

I don't know if that was ever an official LR slogan, the only official one before that I know was "the best 4x4 by far" in the 90's

A cynical slogan for a gullible audience. They don't care. Sales are booming.
Cancelled my RR order 2 years ago following final straw with pitiful dealer experience. Had RR before that. Such a shame, a lovely experience when they work. So, perhaps it's above and beyond in falling short of meeting anticipated ownership experience? |

'Above and Beyond'
More than is required. It denotes excess or exceeding what a particular job requires. So I suppose in context to a Land Rover the expression is correct, Land Rovers have always been in the past 'over-engineered' in relation to another road vehicle and that is why given a little bit of care they last. Trouble is LR desire to make all things electronic and the modern day the reliability of their product is slowly fading. It is very good to have all the latest gimmicks but we all know the more you add to a Defender the more there is to go wrong. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Is it, when you walk into a landrover showroom now the salesmen think they're "above" selling lowly defenders to you. And beyond is, "beyond" believe on how they treat customers anyway? 😡
