Intermediate shaft O ring change
I'm about to change the intermediate shaft o ring, do I need to replace the crush tube or can I back the nut off enough to replace it and re-tighten. Thanks

Pat I have a 2014 Puma and I found that the crush tube was actually a machined to length tube.
I had the local land rover repairer machine the case for a penny washer to eliminate any more leaks.

I’ve just changed mine. On the later spec transfer box’s it’s a spacer not a crush washer so as long as you get the right preload on the bearings afterwards you should be good.

Depending on the age of the box and which end it leaking. The casings are prone to ovaling so will just leak again. Also recommended to fit the shaft with some form of sealant on each end. I used an RTV. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html
