Glen Affric is awesome... done a lot of hillwalking there. Cannich's an odd place - did you go in the pub??? The Youth Hostel is also a interesting place!

Stunning. I've never liked pod camping as there's usually too many rules and you have to park a walk away from the pod.
I like that you can park right by, that's fab :0) |

We’re in Iceland at the moment and have been discussing the similarities to Scotland and which we prefer.

Yes Cannich could be seen as a little odd and yes we do frequent the pub for food one evening when there as it is walking distance from the campsite. It is simple pub grub and the kids love the pizzas.
It is a locals bar particularly in the winter. To be honest not too dissimilar from the one in my own village which is a locals bar all year. If you spend a bit of time at the bar and speak to the locals it is friendly enough. I got chatting to a retired canoe instructor this time. The pub at Tomich a couple of miles away is better but you have to drive. Combined with taking the awning down and not able to have more than half a pint for me isn't worth it. Not many rules at the the campsite and Matt the owner is very friendly. I am only an occasional lurker on Song of the Paddle! |
