The new Defender is looking rather small in these pictures and the one area the Defender has had problems is in the interior accommodation , simply put , I had big burly mates that could not fit in my Defender . I hope they have addressed this , also addressing luggage capacity and the 110 pick up wellside was a joke for the money !

Can not but think Suzuki has beaten them to the market with the Jimny , way more affordable and this does look to be compromised when you look at the metal for the money !!

Time will tell of course

If you zoom in on the picture, it appears that one wheel nut is black whilst the others are silver. Darren

That mule is a lot bigger than a Jimny. Darren

If you zoom the pictures, you can see the hip line of the real panels between the door gaps ... it looks like a bevelled edge rather than a rounded shoulder of the defender ... pity.

It also got a twin exhaust and some chunky brakes up front ... a 3 litre ? that would be fun.

Overall though ... I think that has potential to be nice. -------------------------------
I miss my V8's....

Looking at the side on photo, the SWB version appears to have very little rear load area... If they make a truck cab version then it looks like it'll have a load bed even shorter than my DCPU Shocked

It does at least look as though there will at last be a proper replacement for the Discovery, which is good.

Shame there won't be a replacement for the Defender though.

So I'm driving my Defender today (as everyday) and the thought struck me. What if the new Defender is as close to the old Defender as the new G Wagon is to the old. Personally, after such a long wait I think I might be more than a little disappointed Yes, I want to be able to recognise the new Defender as such but to be honest, as much as I love it, I think we are ready for something new. The Defender is quite a bit different to a series 1 and I am hoping the new Defender will be similarly difference if that makes sense.

As long as it lets in water, the doors don't fit, and it has a dysfunctional heater, then it will capture the spirit of the last 70 years. Rolling with laughter
