That's him. He is my sister in laws uncle. I didn't know how well you knew the area otherwise I could have said. My bad sorry.

If he isn't interested I know of a smaller back street garage in Widnes that I've seen have rebuilt landrovers. Unfortunately I have no experience of them as far as that kind of work, but can always pass on the details

Just noticed your in Halewood, £10 says we pass each other all the time because I live in Woolton. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r

Think I'm going to go to Peterborough this weekend and see what I can find out!! 2000 D2 TD5 - ahhh bless
2006 D3 - no longer with us and sadly missed
1997 300tdi d90 - now with electrics that work!
- now with a brand new custom made soft top fitted
…...…...............….new chassis now all fixed and driving like new
2010 D4 alas no more, but a lovely colour (Nara)
2016 D4 battery magically fixed with NOCO charger

Several bumps in the road...….

agreed a price with autodefiance as they had a Galvanised Richards Chassis in stock (!!)
I wanted to paint the chassis prior to install,and was quoted £380

Decided therefore that I was going to do it and Alex at Autodefiance said he could allocate me some workshop space over the weekend to paint it.

Bought some Buzzwweld GIO as the paint, but now turns out there's no workshop space!!!!

So i'm now having to flap about a get a trailer, get the chassis home, make some stands and a temporary tent to paint the bloomin thing before the job starts on Monday

I confess I went with the easy option and had it painted for me

A shame over the mix-up though.. hope the rest goes smoothly for you.

Some of the trailer places are surprisingly not expensive to rent for a day.

Trailer rented,,,,,£96 for the weekend

Picking Up chassis Friday afternoon

I've built a two 'A- frame tressles' down the side of the house so that I can back the trailer under & lift the chassis off and paint it whilst suspended

Just hoping for 'not terrible' weather
