The best thing about Birmingham is the road out. In contrast the Black Country is quite separate and you will find some of the most down to earth and lovely folk in the world here

I agree with your comment about 'unlucky' but I suspect for very different reasons.

I'm thinking its a damn shame they didn't kill themselves. In this instance they've not killed any poor bystanders but they've still wasted the resources of the emergency services plus all associated costs which will either be picked up by the law abiding tax payer or insurance company which again is funded by the decent folk of this land.

in both cases I a portion of my hard earned cash (like many others on here) is going to waste. Evil or Very Mad

Oh man I walked past that every day in the 70s. My school - the English Martyrs is right across the road from the police station. I haven't been along that part of the Stratford rd in 40 years. I wonder if the adjoining library and swimming baths are still open. And of course Sparkhill Park which was always a bit of a no go area uless you wanted drugs, go cottaging in the toilets or to get stabbed
Ah memories memories Confused

I guess the moral of the storey is 'don't park on double yellows or zig zags'.......or simply avoid Birmingham if you want to keep safe.

.....never could understand why Bournemouth became such a tourist attraction when you've got Birmingham, it even comes first in the alphabet? Confused
