Heated front screen
Can anybody tell me how much l should be paying to get a heated front screen fitted in my TD5 Defender?

I have been quoted £240+VAT, or £300+VAT if it needs a new screen seal (the one fitted is fairly new so should be OK)
That’s just for the screen, l then need to buy and fit the electrical parts.

Is that about right?

Im afraid I cant answer exactly.. But someone mentioned to me that if you have a large stone chip or crack, it can be replaced under insurance... I think about £80...

Or RimmerBros stock a lot, or I guess any LR parts stockist...??

Be interesting to see though... Mines desperate for new rubber... Regards

Have a word with Dave @ VGS, £300 should pretty much get you the screen and wiring kit

Yes it does, around £285

But what’s the fitting cost for just the glass?

The link above implies it would be £420 all in, including fitting.

Your other option might be to try these guys, they look cheaper but I don't have any experience of them..

Defender screens are very easy to fit - once you’ve broken the first one or two Laughing

Some of the cheap aftermarket seals are god awful!

Find someone that does plant glass, normally cheaper they’ll fit one no problems and are probably more used to the rubber seal style than Windscreen fitters.

If anyone wants one fitted near me let me know- I’ve done a couple in my time Laughing
