So a good thing I reverted back from my J.W. Speakers to the SVX Cristal Wipacs, uprated halogen bulbs and a Landreiziger loom.

It would be good if Trucklite could approve a heated lens for the EU like they have on their US model headlights. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

The heated Truck-Lites lens work by having heater elements in the lens. As far as i am aware there is little chance of the current system of heater lens meeting the UNECE regulations.
The heated lens however do meet the North American DOT regulations. Brendan |

Once again thanks for the comments and advice. I’ve approached a reliable garage (WJ Joyce in Trowbridge) and asked them to quote for fitting the loom and crystal halogens. The lights I could do. The loom would be beyond me. If the garage wants an arm and a leg, i guess I will be in the market for some JW Speakers... or an awful lots of carrots.

Well if my current tale of woe is anything, then what ever you do, then do it sooner rather than later.
I upgraded to crystal wipacs and ge megalight bulbs but at the time declined the upgraded loom, Even if in the past I wired my own one up in the Series IIA. Cue driving to work the other day and the lights go out. So wisdom says it's the switch and the later models with the relay on the master switch means it's the other dip / main switch.... Wrong after replacing the switch and then having no lights again this morning I spent my entire lunch time stripping it down to check various connections with the meter. Well it isn't the relay under the seat but the one by the fuse box has got hot enough to start to melt the holder and tapping the relay causes the lights to flicker so the relay is toast (literally) So enough is enough I've gone and ordered a new set of Trucklites. Sorry I just don't like the look of the Prism, scooped or D lens type of the Vision X, nolden, Speaker etc..etc.. The loom is granted much cheaper but It's another layer of wiring to add and IMHO simpler the better. And TBH the clash of light colour of the halogen lights versus the white of the Lazer Triple r is a trivial point but I keep on noticing it So later this week I'll doing my own Geobloke and enjoying the LED life. Upgrade the loom, then do bulbs if you need to. Don't worry about the led thing, it's just a bit of an expensive fashion thing in my opinion. Cheers

Not sure I see the point of swapping to led with one benefit being lower power draw, only to add the power back in the form of a heater!

Doesn’t look great there, might be better once on the car. If the power consumption on the sticker is accurate, is still usefully less power than a halogen. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I'm certainly interested in the principle. Like Bluest I'd want to see that on a car. ....and then there's the question of price! Donald
