Yes. That's a problem I have come across a few times in Donegal. Unlike the UK where we pay rates and have our rubbish collected in the South of Ireland you have to pay a private contractor to have rubbish collected so people take rubbish up into the hills and dump it - really
 me off - it's such a beautiful place. |

It's not great over here now either, since access to public tips (sorry, "recycling centres") has been made so difficult and expensive that fly tipping and illegal waste dumping is becoming a massive problem.
Only this morning the BBC local news was reporting that a farmer in Hampshire has found ten cattle (cows and calves) dead because someone dumped a load of yew arisings in the field in which they were grazing. As this is a family forum I won't say what I would like to do to the thoughtless person who dumped them, but they certainly wouldn't do it again afterwards. |
