United Kingdom 1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Alaska White
Eberspacher water heater
I have an old Eberspacher D5W heater from a BT Transit van that i'm scrapping, and was thinking of fitting it to my 110.
It was a very handy item, just set the timer and it pre-warmed the engine and cab, nothing nicer than getting into a heated truck on a cold dark winters morning!
It also filled a water tank so you could wash your hands with warm water.
Has anyone on here tried fitting this model?
I was worried that it's age (2002) would be against it in terms of spare parts, but there easy enough to get online.

I fitted one quite a few years back now, worked a treat.
When I needed a replacement water pump, BMW supplied one at 1/2 the eberspacher price, same thing.
The burner unit finally went and I picked up an Webasto, ex Freelander fit, brand new for less than the replacement burner.
The D5 is a much better unit than the Webasto, which keeps coking the burner.

My advice would be set it up with a large tub of water to ensure it works before fitting.
