V8 Supercars. Bathurst 1000.
Biggest motorsport event of the year for me coming up next weekend.
4 day Foxtel telecast here.
I reckon 888's Whincup & Dumbrell would be favorites, but Whincup's team mate Shane Van Gizbergen, has a gun co-driver maybe known to some of you guys, a fellow New Zealander Earl Bamber, a 2 time Le Mans winner.
Looking forward to a good race, what sort of coverage, if any, do you guys get?
Pickles.

V8 Supercars used to be televised quite readily over hear, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen anything more than highlights. I used to enjoy watching it. I have to say, it lost its shine a little when they went to to a spec spaceframe, plus now that the Commodore and Falcon are really no more it just doesn’t seem the same. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

The whole of Bathurst was broadcast last year on MotorsportTV.
Will have to wait 'til tomorrorw to see if it's on their schedule for this year.

I’ve only got Freesat which Motorsport appears on sporadically when they can be bothered to keep up with their bills. It’s been on for last few months but disappeared off the EPG recently. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Best bit is that for the rest of the year, the circuit is an open, public road. Took a hire car for a lap or two when over there a few years ago...... Imagine a country lane with apex on each corner - oh and TWO WAY at the same time.

Vin yard in the middle, houses and driveways onto the track and a set of traffic lights to boot.

And yes, it was a V8 Holen I hired Very Happy TY&GN

I tell you what, I really do enjoy watching the V8s when I catch them! The sound of them Bow down
Also it was the btcc finale today too, Bit of emotional one for the champion ship winner, had us in tears with his speech. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

You don’t need to to go half way round the world to find a legendary race circuit that’s a public road for the other 51 weeks of the year. Le Mans is my destination of choice every June.

I have fond memories of watching it on the BBC in the early-mid 1980's when it was the James Hardy 1000!!!

Stunning circuit and racing, nothing like going to Brands on a Sunday!!! Cheers Don.
