Lot 173 in Tuesday's sale at Brightwells, do you think this will be worth a punt?

What has it got under the bonnet?

As with any auction, make sure you know what it is you're buying & give yourself a maximum budget.

If you like it see if you can get it within your budget.

Thumbs Up

To be honest and IMO there is something much more interesting and desirable in the Leominster sale on the 26th Whistle

Interesting project Andrew. Series 1 parts can be very difficult or impossible to find. If your not a strict ‘rivet counter’ then it’s probably worth a punt. Like said, depends what’s under the bonnet, and has it been restored badly in the past. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

MoT history shows it expired in May, has not done many miles in last 8 years. Hardly driven at all. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

That does look nice! Does seem to me like it would do better in the classic auction!

Defender9 there are lots of nice things in the 26th auction! Not all LR related either, would love either of the Pug 205's personally. James

It is worth a punt.

But not a "blind" punt, unless you enjoy risk.

If you don't know much about what you are buying, take someone who does, to look at it.

Remember that with Series Ones, top "value" is very closely linked to originality.

Nice, but check that Bulkhead and Chassis.
It is quite important the the parts are there, such as wiper motors,, trim parts and gauges. It is less important that they work.
Repair is always possible whereas finding the blighters is not.
Good luck should you buy it , they are great fun and Small will not be parted from hers, I think they will bury her in it Rolling with laughter 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue
