Thanks Edo
Where did you get the double din facial from and is it any good? Did you fit it yourself and if so was it easyish. Did you need any adapter looms etc... Fitted one a while back to the first ever LR freelancer, but that was a real sod to get the dash off. I’m hoping the defender will be a bit more basic. I’m not sure how much the Alpine one is, but it stands out from the dash which may look great or a bit pants. I’m undecided.. It can however have a rear view camera added and has all the fancy maps and air play etc... But you can get sat nav and a camera in the rear view mirror for a few hundred now. |

Just
I agree, but i’ve seen with defenders that you don’t loose much by playing about and modifying them. And I like to play. Plus it’ll make it mine.... |

Welcome to Defender ownership and particularly to D2N the place full of help and spending ideas! I will cost you a fortune if you let it! As above security and corrosion protection. Then I suggest you live it then see what needs doing. Whilst adding to the Defender might not depreciate the vehicle you rarely get back what you spend from what I see.

If you're looking to retrim, I highly recommend speaking to Phil Bahfir at OEM Developments. His interiors are top notch and he's a great guy to deal with. You won't know where to stop though. Re-trim seat kit, padded cubby lid and 4 part dash kit to start.... ![]() MY2012 110 2.2TDCi XS SW Orkney Grey - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43410.html MY1990 110 200TDi SW beautifully faded Portofino Red - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post743641.html#743641 MY1984 90 V8 Slate Grey - https://www.defender2.net/forum/post744557.html#744557 Instagram @suffolk_rovers |

OK. So so far I have:
A decent immobilizer... Any idea what is best? Security screws on the doors etc.. (mad, but I understand) Soundproofing Rust protection Protect the mud flaps. (Free-ish, so why not) Heated seat kit. (for the wifey) Leather seat kit from OEM. Cubby box as mine loks like a plastic tray. Double din stereo or single din upgrade. Maybe a reverse camera added into it. Hmmm...... interesting and I haven't even picked it up yet. So maybe I will do the security bits. Do the soundprofing myself then wait a bit. Anything else that is a must, but not thought about? |

There are two types. One "flat where you have to cut the existing vents and clock off (bad), and one full. I got mine from Mud.co.uk. In hindsight I wish I had gone for matt rather than gloss as the finish is a bit prone to scratches. Cutting the hole for the relocation panel is a bit worrying and most have a 52mm round slot for a gauge I would prefer not to have. I also had to extend 3 switches to make them reach the relocation panel, but its all doable if you take your time. ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Cheers Edo
Was looking at the demon earlier. https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=Console I assume you went for the £250 as it’s a bit easier, but scratches. There is no mat option as a full Facia so I assume this is what you mean about cutting the other one in two. Is this the best option????! Paul |

Yup some are like this:
http://www.landroverweb.com/landrover/wp-c...24x768.jpg Which you dont want as you have to cut off vent and clock section which is not something you want to be doing! |

I echo JST's comments.
I bough my TDCI 110 in 2014 and spent the few weeks thinking what to upgrade. I decided to sound-proof it (via CSK) and have it waxoyled and then live with it before spending anything else. 4 years on and I've spent nothing else since and am completely happy with the truck! James |

![]() Click image to enlarge You can always paint the double din fascia to match the vehicle. I also cut the 52mm circle section off the relocation panel and smoothed the corners out. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

HI Martin
I have a price for these covers but they are unfortunately a lot more expensice compared to the ones on OEM supplies. As I've 7 seats it gets silly. Even with the discount. But probably great quality if I could afford it. Roy That looks mint... Where did you get the bits from? Paul |
