Back with a few more updates on the Defender life here en Denmark.
Vacation time.. My daughter and i went for a small vacation outing, at a old local gravle pit, whic had been turned into a campsite. Sleeping late, and going to a Rock museum, was just her type of "sleep out in the wild" Click image to enlarge A few days later we went to help out a couple friends finisihing their overland truck.. just 2 weeks befor they embarc on a 1 year world round trip, in their brand new Scania 4x4 truck Click image to enlarge A really nice truck The came time the girlfriend and me to go visit my brother in Hong Kong. After som flight issues and VERY friendly help from my favorit swede edfors we managed to get there 24 h late Not much defenders and those that where look like their wildest offroad ever had been crossing the curb at the gucchi store Walked past the Land Rover store and had to have a pic of the Velar Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Hong Kong is a magnificent city. Back home in Denmark We packed up our 3 kids and whent on proper vacation. 5 days in tent and rooftop tent. Started of at my dads drive with the kids riding ATV`s for almost a whole day. Click image to enlarge Then ending up at a campsite ind Northe Jutland where site owner had a Ranger Rover Sport Click image to enlarge After talking to the owner, telling about some one driving on the beach to Skagen City, we wanted to try it. Next day setting of, we startede by freeing some germans from the lovely danish westcoast sand. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Getting on with our 30km beach only adventure Click image to enlarge The beach was fun, and upon arriving at Skagen after som heavy sanddriving (3rd low 4.000rpm) for like 9 km the road that lead of the beach was blocked, because the people who owns Maersk have a summer house there Quick Think we had to find a place to park while investigating, or els we would get STUCK... Quickly the girlfriend spotted a pallet where we could place one front whele... which was enough to get us going again. Click image to enlarge OK, the road WAS blocked. back the 9 km in 3rd low and 4.000 rpm to keep the momentum up. Getting back to the camp site the owner told us the those who made it to Skagen had been on a ATV and not in a Land Rover BUT we made it.... Back at the campsite we meet a Swiss couple who build a 110" back up from bare frame and made a overlander to be admire, sorry this is my best shoot.. Quit their jobs, sold the house and planed on driving europe with bo other plan then having a great time Click image to enlarge A picnic shot from Rebild Bakker (sadly not allowed for cars) Click image to enlarge Back from vacation it was time for MOT, which in denmark is once a year for my M2 Reged 110"... I Needed to create a numberplate holding thingy for the front., ended up doing a plate to slot in to the winch fairlead, and tightning on the back. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge And here wh are testing how the defender looks at a farm for sale... Click image to enlarge Farm was TO shabby and had to be rebuild ground up, so we passed on the offer. Time for MOT, and i failed.... Click image to enlarge He couldnt read the VIN number. So had to go home and CUT my brand new bumper.. Click image to enlarge My friend bought my 1952 series one off me.. Click image to enlarge It looks nice with two 110" and a 80" series one Time for a weekend out.. Drove the truck 300 km north in to Sweden before realising that the front wheel was comming of.. (had blamed the propshaft for about the last 50km) Tightened up the wheel on the roadside at 10 in the evening, while the police was passing by we ussually newer see the police in sweden. Then the handbrake light came on and off for some reason... looked everywhere.. but in the end figured out that it was the preasure swith at the top of the reservoir, that need a cleaning. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge After 2 days of rain the tent, mattress needed drying in the sun. We found the nice looking 90" parked at a house. Click image to enlarge After som research the owner is to be featured in this project My Land Rover Has a Soul From what i hear its a sIII with a big japanese engineand defender front. Now for installing som lights on the roof rack, hope to get some shots of the work done. 1999 TD5 "M2 Registered" 110" STW Dual Battery | 2DIN Radio | VW Touran Rearseats, 2" Lift | Polybushes | The Danish TurBus |
