Building a CCTV System

So I have been reading a fair bit on these and other forums and I am considering building a CCTV system and like the look of the Hikvision IP POE equipment. Can anybody recommend a good and trusted supplier for this equipment, there seem to be no end of cctv equipment suppliers on the internet.

Arlo Pro 2, if you can a) stomach the price, and b) have fast broadband. Best system I’ve ever used, and it’s wirelss too, so incredibly flexible.

recommend swann got one set up around my garage , good network of support if you need it .

I've replaced a few swann systems. As I mentioned in a previous post... swann is "ok"... just that... "ok"

We've had a Hikvision system for a year or so, which seems to be ok. I find the software a bit clunky but it's not something that you have to play with every day. Darren

+1 for HIK Vision (and +1 for slightly clunky software).

We have the 8 camera system and NVR and having got it set up it hasn’t missed a beat for two years (and when we’ve needed it the recording has come up with the goods - clear, quick and the software will search for faces, number plates etc.). Ian

I installed a Hikvision IP POE setup at my property a couple of months back (https://www.cctvkits.co.uk/hiwatch-by-hikvision-1-4-camera-4mp-ip-cctv-camera-kit-builder.html)

I got it from www.cctvkits.co.uk and used discount code vwforum for 6% off

I found the company good to deal with. I called them beforehand for some advice around lens focal length - they were very helpful. Kit was delivered quickly.
