We stopped in Berlin for a couple of nights a few years ago in an AirBNB flat in Prenzlauer Berg. Was very handy for getting around from there

I worked there for a couple of years back in the mid 90's and love the place......well I did.
Went back a year or two later for a city break and had a great time. I fear it isn't what it used to be in terms of the 'crowds'. Loads to see and do however but not sure if the redevelopment that was really taking off when I left as a lot of the load charm / character has possibly gone and I understand the issue of immigrants, prostitution, drugs etc is on a completely different scale to what it was so much so that I lost interest in organising a trip there more recently - not suggesting you shouldn't go nor that it's put me off for good as I'd still like to go back with the kids. Can't recommend places to stay other than there's loads of choice - Olivaer Platz just off Kurfusterdamn would be some right near the centre that I'd aim for or Charlottenburg which is a 20min walk. If possible I'd highly recommend you consider getting around on bikes if you can - it's flat and the cycle paths were second to none. have a wonderful time and if you want any antiquated info feel free to ask. |

That is where I normally stay in Berlin. It's fine and you will find it a good location. You may want to spend some time walking around the classic cars here http://www.remise.de |
